The Wrightington Hospital Surgical Innovations Laboratory is world renowned for its surgical teaching, offering a selection of unique courses, designed for the education of surgeons across several fields of speciality. Surgical experts travel to Wrightington Hospital from across the globe to lead master classes and provide participants with one to one expert advice.

Our Surgical Innovations Laboratory is one of only a handful of hospitals in the UK that offers the unique experience of hands on practical learning in a cadaveric laboratory.
We are proud to build on our heritage and the legacy of Sir John Charnley, who pioneered his ground-breaking surgical techniques here at Wrightington Hospital. The Hospital supports surgical training in partnership with industry and the healthcare professions at one of the best known Orthopaedic centres in the world.
The facility includes a practical cadaveric laboratory for up to nine work stations, with an audio-visual link between the Surgical Innovations Laboratory, lecture theatre (which hosts up to 90 delegates) and operating theatres for surgical courses and conferences.
