Professional Biography

Adam is on the Specialist Register as a Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon.  He specialises in surgery of the hand and upper limb with a particular interest in surgery at the elbow.  He routinely performs arthroscopy of the elbow, wrist and shoulder, joint replacement surgery in the upper limb and hand, soft tissue surgery of the hand and upper limb and trauma reconstruction. 
Adam trained in London and Edinburgh and undertook specialist Fellowship training in hand and upper limb surgery in Adelaide, Australia and at Wrightington Hospital, Lancashire.  In addition he has had advanced training in elbow surgery in Glasgow, Scotland.  

Adam is active in medical education and research.  He is the research and governance director of the Upper Limb Unit at Wrightington Hospital.  He has published numerous papers on trauma and orthopaedic surgery, contributed to several book chapters and presented at national and international scientific meetings.  He is co-convenor of the Wrightington Elbow Symposium.

In his spare time Adam enjoys cycling, sailing and running.
